I just installed Armory 0. Its downloading the blockchain right now in fact. But when I click on "send bitcoins" it tells me that Armory is in offline mode. It doesn't tell me anything about how to switch to "online mode".
So what gives? The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:. Until the blockchain is downloaded, you can't send bitcoins. The reason for this is that armory can't be sure it wouldn't be spending UTXO that have been used since the last time it was online.
So it definitely went online once it copied the whole blockchain. It would certainly be nice for it to make it clearer that is what happens, and it would also be nice for it to remove some of the restrictions of offline mode somehow. And I can't see the balance of my imported wallet either Is that done in the background?
How can I know the progress of that? How long do I have to wait? I'm reopening this because Armory continues to be a goddamn pain in the ass. I FINALLY downloaded the blockchain using bitcoin core after doing some symlink tricks to speed up the process, and now Armory just looks at me like a cow looks at an oncoming train saying "offline". Its embarrassing that these usability issues still exist. Yet amory, states that I am Offline I'll write another issue about that.
And yes, that's the wrong path. Why is it setting it to that path? My ArmorySettings. Also, why does Armory not shut down ArmoryDB. This means people trying to debug issues like this will likely fail because they don't remember or don't know they need to restart ArmoryDB, assuming that restarting the Armory GUI is all that's needed.
Honestly, thanks for all the work you do on Armory, but I've just never had a good experience using this software. I'm going to move to electrum. I just can't deal with problems like this every time I want to have access to my bitcoins. I've got the same issue, except the blocks path is correct.
It seems that it's not parsing the directory separators correctly, however. It probably doesn't help that there's a space.
